Focus News Agency – Sofia Military Court is to sit on the trial against General Kircho Kirov, former head of the National Intelligence Service, who is accused of money embezzlement worth nearly BGN 5 million.
The lawsuit was launched in 2013, after an audit report in 2007-2013, which claimed that Mr Kirov had misappropriated the money for special operations.
Under the indictment, Mr Kirov is accused of misappropriating BGN 4.7 million from the budget of the service in five years.
The questioning of witnesses, including key political figures, continues for a third day.
On Wednesday the court will hear Georgi Parvanov, leader of ABV party and former president of Bulgaria.
