The British Security Service (MI5) is recruiting Russian speaking analysts.

As tensions with Russia reach heights not seen since the Cold War following the annexation of Crimea, the British intelligence apparatus has launched a recruitment drive for Russian speakers.

Having focused almost all of its resources on the Islamist terrorist threat since the 2005 London bombings, MI5 must now face increased Russian intelligence activities in the kingdom.

2006 : Alexander Litvinenko, FSB defector, is assassinated in London.

2010 : Anna Chapman, SVR agent, is stripped of UK citizenship.

2011 : MI5 claims Russian Katia Zatuliveter, 26, aide and lover of Mike Hancock, 65,  Member of Parliament, is passing secrets to Russia and advises she be deported. She appeals against deportation and wins.
